Dear Mr. Kostunica,

I am writing this letter to express my deep concern for animals in Belgrade Zoo.

My heart is braking on taught that anyone in Serbia could enjoy in that horiffic place where suffer and pain fly between those concrete cages, while heartbraking scene of distressed Animals fills eyes with tears.

I believe that You have traveled the World, and that You had that chance to see how Animals should be treated, also I heard that You are very found of Animals and that You do love them.

The Animals in Belgrade Zoo live in bare enclosures, and show obvious signs of distress and illness. Instead of attempting to mimic the natural surroundings of each Animal, bare cages, cement, and dirt are all that can be seen. The enclosures in which the Animals are housed are substandard, by any measure of decency...

Undoubtedly, years of depravity, lack of stimulation and large Animals being confined to too small cages have resulted in stereotypical behavior being displayed by animals that are severely distressed. Animals have no stimulation, many have no companionship of their own kind, and all are obviously bored, anxious, and in distress, biting their cages, pacing up and down, encircling, excessive grooming and self mutilation are all signs of extreme suffering. This is not surprising, as any living creature would suffer similarly under completely unnatural circumstances.

How can anyone stroll along on beautifully groomed walkways and look upon such misery? In sharp contrast to this depressing view are the clean, groomed, and tree-lined walks provided for Zoo patrons. It is a cruel injustice that the Animals on display can only observe the type of scenery of which they should be a part.

Conditions in witch thsese poor Animals spend their miserable lives are unspeakable, disturbing scene of Belgrade Zoo for many emancipated World citizen was enough to react and voice their concerns because that kind of scene stays in heads of emancipated children like a horror movie.

Why must these Animals suffer so horribly? Those Animals are kept like war prisoners - but they did nothing wrong! What ever happened to Serbia does not justify what is happening to those poor Animals.

The Belgrade Zoo is an embarrassment for Belgrade citizens and for Serbia, it is unfortunate that a country so rich in culture, beauty, and history, is also a party to such a disgraceful situation. Do all that’s in Your power to help world organizations in their efforts to protect and save Animals from Belgrade Zoo, while there is still time left for those Animals to live.

If there are insufficient funds or resources to make the necessary changes, the Zoo should be closed and the Animals sent to sanctuaries.

Please have a heart for suffer of Animals in Belgrade Zoo, the way a society treats Animals, reveals that society's sense of humanity and respect for life,

thats why I believe that Your noble heart will understand importance of Your interferance.
